Paul Sitarz is a Senior Managing Director in Mesirow Institutional Sales and Trading. He focuses on municipal funding, specifically tender option bond (TOB) transactions and other municipal funding products.

Paul has more than 35 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Mesirow in 2015, he worked at Brownstone Investment Group, where he founded the firm’s municipal bond department and successfully established the firm’s trading and sales presence. Before that, he worked at UBS Securities as a Managing Director. At UBS, he developed and structured its municipal derivatives business and eventually managed over $37 billion of distressed assets. He spent over 24 years at Morgan Stanley working on the municipal derivatives business, the TOB program and municipal coverage of the hedge fund industry.

Paul is a former member of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board’s Nominating Committee and also served on the SIFMA New Products Committee. He was previously a guest speaker at the Municipal Bond Buyers Conference.

Paul earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He holds FINRA Series 7, 53 and 63 licenses.
