Matthew Sandschafer is a Senior Vice President and Senior Analyst in Mesirow High Yield Management. He is responsible for portfolio analysis and credit research specializing in gaming, media and broadcasting, metals and mining, and technology industries for the high yield and leveraged loan strategies.

Matthew has 24 years of investment management experience. Prior to joining Mesirow in 2018, he was a Senior Analyst at ALJ Capital Management. Before that, he was a Research Analyst at Napier Park Global Capital, Harbert Credit Opportunities Fund, Pardus Capital Management, Avenue Capital Group, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. and Banc of America Securities.

Matthew earned a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in economics and political science from the University of Iowa. He is a CFA® charterholder.
