• Firm hires Steve Simon to focus on Aerospace & Defense sector coverage in Mesirow Investment Banking 

• Role will strengthen presence of Mesirow Investment Banking with the Aerospace & Defense sector, in particular the Commercial Outer Space industry

CHICAGO, August 15, 2022 – Mesirow today announced that Steve Simon has joined the firm’s Investment Banking group as a Vice President. Steve will focus primarily on serving clients within the aerospace and defense, commercial outer space and industrial sectors. Leveraging his industry experience, Steve’s contributions will strengthen Mesirow’s distinguished middle-market advisory platform. 

Based out of Mesirow’s Chicago headquarters, Steve brings a decade of business advisory and investment banking experience, including extensive experience in the commercial outer space industry. Steve has written and presented several whitepapers on the law and economics of the commercial outer space industry, including articles for the International Astronautical Congress, the Global Space Exploration Conference, the Cyrus Institute of Knowledge and the peer-reviewed journal Acta Astronautica.

Prior to joining Mesirow, Steve served as an Associate at Lincoln International within the Capital Advisory Group. Prior to that, he served as an Associate at PwC. Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ancient Studies from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Science in Accountancy from Bentley University, a Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He holds FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses as well as a National Association of Rocketry certification for high-powered rocketry.
