  • Human Rights Campaign Foundation assesses LGBTQ workplace equality each year
  • Award reflects Mesirow’s continuing and longstanding focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

CHICAGO, January 27, 2022 – Mesirow, an independent, employee-owned financial services firm, today announced that it received a top score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality.

"We are proud to once again be recognized amongst the U.S. businesses that earned top marks for our workplace culture and policies that support LGBTQ and ally employees," said Richard S. Price, Chairman and CEO of Mesirow. "Through programs, trainings and community engagement sponsored by our PrideConnect Employee Resource Group, our professionals embrace awareness, respect and authenticity."

“This honor is important, and yet we know we have much more work to do. As our firm prepares to mark our 85th anniversary in 2022, we continue to implement diversity, equity and inclusion best practices and track our progress against our Six-Point DEI Commitment.” said Natalie A. Brown, President of Mesirow.

The CEI evaluates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars: Non-discrimination policies across business entities; Equitable benefits for LGBTQ employees and their families; Supporting an inclusive culture; and Corporate social responsibility.

“When the HRC Foundation created the Corporate Equality Index 20 years ago, we dreamed that LGBTQ+ workers could have access to the policies and benefits needed to thrive and live life authentically,” said Jay Brown, HRC Senior Vice President of Programs, Research and Training. “Congratulations to Mesirow for achieving the title of ‘best places to work for LGBTQ+ equality’ and working to advance inclusion in the workplace.”
