Michael Breen is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor in Mesirow Wealth Management. He specializes in creating customized financial plans, cash flow analyses, retirement plans, stock option planning, and generational wealth transfer plans for affluent individuals, foundations and business owners. Michael often serves as the key advisor to individuals and families experiencing intense times of change (e.g., a loss in the family or divorce).
Michael has 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Mesirow in 2014, Michael was an associate analyst at Cross Keys Capital, LLC, building extensive experience in the mergers and acquisitions market.
Michael’s unique journey into wealth management is personal, beginning with the loss of his father at a young age. He learned that a trusted family advisor can provide comfort and relief in the most difficult circumstances. When not assisting clients, Michael’s greatest joy is working with his wife to help their daughters grow. In what time remains he daydreams about future travel plans — he has visited 77 countries and love helping his clients think through their own travel dreams. He is also the author of four novels.
Michael is a long-standing board member of Camp For All Kids (CFAK), which sends underserved youth to summer camps throughout the Midwest, and he attended Camp Timberlane (one of the founding CFAK members) for 18 years as a camper and Director.
Michael earned a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Michigan. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses.
