Matthew Zhang is a Senior Managing Director in Mesirow Institutional Sales and Trading. He’s in charge of Agency CMO structuring and trading, and also lead the sales and distribution of the structured products in the Great Asia area.

Matthew has 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry. Before joining Mesirow, he served as Senior Portfolio Manager at Fannie Mae and managed their retained portfolios between 2007 and 2010. He then traded mortgage derivatives at UBS and served as the head CMO structurer at Deutsche Bank. He also headed the Asia Structured Product Sales at BNP Paribas between 2016 and 2018.

Matthew has a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in physics from Beijing University. He also holds a CFA and investment certificate from Harvard University. Matthew holds a series 7 and 63 license.
