
Chris Sheehan is a Managing Director in Mesirow Public Finance. He focuses on servicing municipal and developer clients primarily in the states of Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia as well as other states across the east coast. Chris is responsible for the development and implementation of innovative tax-exempt and taxable issues to finance construction projects, minimize short-term borrower costs and refund outstanding debt obligations.
Chris has served as an investment banker for numerous development and infrastructure financings, focusing on Tax Increment Finance Districts, Neighborhood Improvement Districts, Special Taxing Districts, TIF Monetizations and Special Assessment Districts across the country. Chris has completed some of the largest economic developments financings done to date including Port Covington, Downtown Columbia, Beltline, among others.
Prior to joining Mesirow in 2021, Chris served as a Director of public finance at Stifel, where he served as a lead or co-lead banker on economic development or redevelopment financings across the nation, including inaugurating the first publicly-offered bond in the State of Maine that was secured by Tax Increment and Development Assessments.
Chris is active in the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is a member of the Baltimore Chapter of Lambda Alpha International (LAI), the Maryland Government Finance Officers Association and the Municipal Bond Club of Baltimore. He also serves on the Council for Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) Board of Trustees.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts from Boston College. He holds FINRA Series 50, 52, and 63 licenses.
